Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Active quarry exposing dykes of leucocratic granites up to granodiorites, two-mica granites and quartz diorites to quartz granodiorites. In the eastern quarry part biotitic migmatitic paragneisses appear, locally with sillimanite and/or garnet. Contact between the plutonic complex and the Moldanubian Zone is clearly tectonic. Tectonic fractures provide a rich mineral association. The locality belongs to the Geopark "Kraj blanických rytířů- The Region of the Blaník Knights".
